Safar Mohammad Khan

Profile:

A Man behind the 'Bioremediation' and  'Smart Sponge Technology' to Combat Hydrocarbon Pollution to Save Flora and Fauna  and Overall Environment. promoting Greener approach to Preserve Environment by providing Consultancy to State Pollution Control Boards Viz,MPCB,GSPCB earlier in case of 'Mumbai Oil Spill' and 'Goa Tar ball' case with assisting support to 'Ministry of Environment and Forest'(MOEF),Trying to make 'Pilot Case Study to Bioremediate Sludge which has been extracted in refineries in the form of hazardous pollution while Fractional distillation of Crude Oil.

'Bioremediation' allows natural Processes to clean up harmful chemicals in the Environment .Microscopic 'Microbes' that live in soil and groundwater or the culture medium like to eat certain chemicals such as those found in gasoline & Oil spills. When Microbes completely digest these chemicals, they change them into water and harmful gases such as CO2 and amino acids with some other non toxic gaseous.

He is providing consultancy in all type of Pollution issues, its fugitive emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's), Petroleum Standards, Estimating Vapour losses from IFRT's & EFRT's to State Pollution Control Boards & Refineries in India and abroad. He proposes effluent and its emission standard as per API/EPA Viz ASTDM,BSTDM, & Ministry of Environment & Forests to all Petroleum Oil refineries including all petrochemical and Chemical Companies in India.

Currently He is concentrating on Microbial-Biotechnological applications to Combat Water and Land pollution from hydrocarbon pollution including Oil Spillage in Ocean and other water reservoir with land contaminants. He headed the 'Tar Ball Case 'of Goa, Spillage happened on 31st of September-2010 in Goa. Being a Post Graduate (M.Sc.) in Botany with the Specialization in Environmental Science, He has a broader and clear view of Biological Principles of how microbial technology could be effective against hydrocarbon Pollutants.

His main focus is on 'Sludge Treatment ‘which is already being started the Case Study and Free Trails in BPCL-Mahul

He pursued MBA from Motilal Nehru Institute of Research and Business Administration in 2006 (MONIRBA).He got Industrial training in IFFCO, Phulpur Unit –Allahabad. Currently working with one of the leading Environmental Engineering & Disaster Management Company-GREEN APPLE ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES (GAET) as an Area Manager-Western India, heading Maharashtra, Gujrat and MP.

His Main Expertise/Working Areas:

Storm Water Management, Water Treatment, Solid Waste Management, Bioremediation for disposal of Hydrocarbon Pollution, Oil Spill Response and preparedness, refinery Sludge treatment, Violent acid neutralization, Oeliophylic polymer technology for absorbing the water hydrocarbon contaminants, onshore-offshore solution for Oil / hydrocarbon pollution, VRU, Vapour Sealing Systems for controlling the VOC vaporization (Controlling Air Pollution),Nitrogen blanketing, Cryogenic systems, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), API, EPA,MOEF,SPCB regulations and statuary norms, Environmental Management, Pollution Management, Safety ,Health & Environment, Fire fighting systems(Rim Seal) for EFRT/IFRT. Renewable sources of Energies Mangrove Ecology etc.

Edcational Qualification:

BSc-Chemistry-Christ Church College,University of Kanpur,UP,India.

MSc-Environmental Sciences,University of Kanpur,UP,India.

MBA-Marketing-Motilal Nehru Institute of Research & Business administration(MONIRBA),AU,UP,India.

Electronic Commerce Technologies(EC-Tech)-from Indian Institute of Technology(FITT) under Federation of Innovation of Technology Transfer.

Membership:

1-Ecolological Society of America(ESA),1900  M Street,NW,Suite 700,Washington ,DC 20046.

ESA Member Id: 145470,

Currently involving research on Ecological Science to address Environmental issues that Include Ecosystems management, Ecological restoration form oil effected mangroves & Sustainable  ecological Systems.

Current Paper Submission: "Oil Spills in Mangroves"- in reference of Mumbai Oil Spill during an accident of Msc-Chitra & Khalizia, August-2010.

Objective: Working on to infuse ecological knowledge into environmental decision-making, convey ecological science to the State Pollution Control boards(SPCB), Central Pollution Control boards(CPCB),& Ministry of Environment(MOEF),all India refineries  and the general public, and to provide consultancy to the ecological community on all issues of Environmental Pollution basically on Oil & hydrocarbon Pollution.
